Mayan Highlands Retreat recap
Oh this mythology, this prayer, this unfolding that spills forth so effortlessly every time one lays eyes on the dazzling magic of Atitlan for the first time ✨
One of my favorite things is to witness what takes place in the reaction of people stepping foot into this watershed for the first time. Especially when they arrive at night, like my guests did for this retreat, and having them wake to the sun rising, painting a story across the sky. I love seeing the lake bringing their hearts into expansion and tears to their eyes. 🌅
It’s such a gift to bear witness to people who are ready for change, for deep, uncomfortable, life enduring change…the kind of change that ripples into community, and to see it happen in reverence for this land and these people is something I’ve dreamt of my entire life. 🇬🇹
There is nothing that happens outside of the circle until it happens inside of the circle, and that’s what we did last week. We crafted a space where people could grow unabashedly with the help of the water and the wind and the Earth and the trees….the scorpions and the trees and the ancestors, everyone was there, helping us to find the fractures and the lost parts and piece them together again into a mosaic of authentic truth.
Thank you to the brave people who humbly bared their souls and trusted me to guide them towards their internal medicine and through their fear. We are nothing without community, all drops in the lake, all leaves of the tree, all threads in the cloth.
The ancient Maya call this place the belly button of Earth. She is definitely the womb of Guatemala, and there is something that happens here…you have to be ready for it and when you are, you will never be the same. 🙏🏼♥️
