More from the Mayan Highlands Retreat!

The second half of our Mayan Highlands Retreat was like going into a portal through time. We got to deepen the inward and outward explorations of life in the part of the world that means the most to me and continues to take my breath away even after 45 years of playing and wandering on this land. 🌀

My great, great grandfather purchased this property, Molino Helvetia (Swiss Mill) in 1924 and we are about to celebrate 100 years in the wheat milling business. The Mill is celebrated as a museum and eco-lodging operation and the property hosts a 500 acre nature preserve. 🌲

The stories and the mysteries of this place enchant everyone who steps foot onto the property. It also neighbors the ancient K’aqchiquel stronghold of Iximche, adding a layer of history, intrigue, and depth to our journey. ✨

One of the sweetest gifts of this part of our adventure was teaching Pepian, my favorite Guatemalan meal. It’s a hearty stew crafted with toasted sesame and pumpkin seeds, chocolate, chiles and roasted tomatoes and onions. 🍲

On our final night we sat in ceremony around a fire at the base of giant cypress trees and then my aunt, a talented music therapist, and I performed a sound healing for the group. It was inter dimensional and goes into my pocket as one of the fondest memories of my entire life. Once again, thank you all for trusting me to guide you through…down, up, and back out. I’m humbled, honored, and most of all, grateful. 🙏🏼
